Effect

This artifact appears as a heavy wooden box. Speaking one of three command words alters its form. First Command Word: The box unfolds into a small boat (10 ft long, 4 ft wide, 2 ft deep). It comes equipped with a pair of oars, an anchor, a mast, and a lateen sail. It comfortably holds up to four humanoid creatures. Second Command Word: The box unfolds into a large ship (24 ft long, 8 ft wide, 6 ft deep). It features a deck, rowing seats, five pairs of oars, a steering oar, an anchor, a deck cabin, and a mast with a square sail. It comfortably holds up to fifteen humanoid creatures. Third Command Word: The vessel folds back into its box form, provided no creatures are aboard. Any objects on the vessel that fit inside the box remain stored within it; all other objects are left behind.

About this item

Made of always-damp, aged wood, this box carries an inescapable stench of rot and mold. Its rusted hinges squeal in protest whenever it is opened.
