Shield
Domain overview
Shield is the domain of personal protection. Where Valor focuses on outward acts to protect others, the Shield domain focuses inward to defend itself. Those who follow the Shield domain may be lone wolves who don’t wish to rely on anyone. Or they may be dedicated defenders who hone their strength to stand between their friends and danger.
Mechanically, Shield domain cards are designed to stack with copies of themselves. The more of each type of card is in your loadout, the greater its benefit will be. The player can experiment with different stacks to optimize their playstyle.
Some cards also allow the hero to return part of a stack to the vault in exchange for a greater immediate benefit. The player can choose whether to weaken themselves overall in order to protect themselves in the short term.
