About this ancestry
Mimics are shapeshifting humanoids whose true forms vary wildly—some appear smooth and featureless, others unsettlingly fluid or reflective. Born with the innate ability to alter their bodies, they can imitate nearly any face or voice with ease. Although they can only alter their looks based on people they have met, seen and hear. Many conceal their nature, blending among other ancestries to survive or seek belonging. Though gifted in adaptation, Mimics often struggle with identity, torn between who they appear to be and who they truly are. Their lifespan averages 80 years, though few live a single life under one name.
