    Hey, folks!

I'm Nico de Gallo, a YouTuber with a professional background in acting, improv comedy, sketch writing, burlesque performance and show hosting, and game mastering!

I make short-form content on my YouTube channel where I give quick tips on DH in 2 minutes or less in which I'll occasionally collaborate with other creators or even some of the game's designers!

What kinds of questions would you like to have answered in bite-sized clips?

I'm happy to cover things as specific as DH mechanics to as general as roleplaying if you're shy!

(If I don't think a question is in my capacity to answer, I'll recommend other creators or videos to help you so as not to leave you hanging!)

    Happy gaming!

Have you done a video about creating adversaries and environments? Since Daggerheart is fairly new and Hope and Fear isn't out yet, most GMs are going to have to, for better or worse, homebrew their own. I'd be interested to know if you had any tips.

I'd like to see one that compares GM Prep for D&D compared to the prep required in DH for a similar encounter. Time permitting or as.a separate video compare how CR math works vs Battlepoints math in DH.

"Have to"? "Get to"! Homebrew is the HEART of Daggerheart! The CRB even outright encourages folks to create their own original content. Somebody in my Discord server just suggested the same topic, so I'll start writing a script for creating original creatures (and then, environments), tootsuite! (I'm also starting a talk show called "Hearty Brews" on my channel where my buddy Dorkseid and I demonstrate how easy it is to whip up homebrew content on the fly, but that's long-form content.)

@Jeffrey Sounds interesting! I've decided to gradually move away from distinguishing Daggerheart by comparing it to D&D, and while I did compare them in a recent video, that was more to make a point about D&D than DH if that makes sense (DH was just the example I used). Still, I'd love to do a video on prep and putting together encounters.

Understood. I came to DH by way of 5e and I just think more DMs are on the fence about why/why/how DH might be better and your videos were one of the things that helped bring me here to DH.

I would do a short on how well an environment and adversaries go so well together and maybe do a short just on clocks and how to use them to raise the tension. Also do one just on Short Rests and Long Rests and remind those GM's to generate Fear for both types of rests.

I'd love a short on Chases. I understand how they work but I've never clicked with them yet.

I'd love to see a video about maintaining characters without pausing. I find myself having to stop and say, "What would they say in this scenario?" It breaks immersion for me and probably my players, too! :)

Y'all, these suggestions are wonderful! Keep 'em coming! If you see one you agree with, don't hesitate to repeat it or echo the sentiment. That tells me it's a popular topic, and describing the issue more clarifies for me what exactly y'all are struggling with about it.

A video around the concept of committing to the bit.Make a choice thats in theme for your game, lean into ky, let it inform your other choices. See how it plays out.In games like Daggerheart, the confident choice is almost always the right one

Not sure if you've done this already, but I'd love to hear your ideas on social environments and how to create/use them!

BTW I'm looking forward to the next Hearty Brews stream, the last one was great fun (I'm tealeeves on yt if you remember who was in chat haha)!

The List up to Now:Creating homebrewed content.ANSWERED: This is why Dorkseid and I created "Hearty Brews"! A monthly livestream where we create homebrew content on the fly to show y'all how it's done! Here's our holiday-themed "pilot episodes" (we're still working out the kinks): Thanksgiving-Themed Consumables and Toy-Themed Adversaries! How to prep encounters (and Battle Points).Environment+Adversary pairings (using the "Potential Adversaries" and how to decide on your own).Countdowns and the narrative tension they create.Rest and downtime activities (remind GMs how they gain Fear).Running chase scenes (adding: and how to think of them to make them make sense).Staying in character (rather than pausing to formulate their behavior.Making (confident) choices and committing to them, whether role-playing, storytelling, etcRunning social environments.Creating social environments. This could be a future Hearty Brews topic (perhaps Valentine's Day themed).
