Heart of Daggers exists to champion human craft. To protect the time, effort, and livelihoods of artists and writers, we do not allow AI-generated content of any kind on our platform.
This is a major change from our previous “disclose AI use” approach. The old AI label is gone. The new standard is simple: If a AI system created or meaningfully altered any part of the product, it may not be uploaded or sold here.
What this means
- No AI products: Products containing AI-generated or AI-assisted text, images, maps, audio, video, tokens, icons, logos, layouts, stat blocks, encounter writeups, or any other creative asset are prohibited.
- Immediate cleanup: All existing products previously tagged as AI or flagged as containing AI will be removed.
- Enforcement:
- First violation: product removal + temporary account ban.
- Second violation (any time after): permanent account ban.
- Attestation required: Every listing requires a creator attestation: “No AI was used in any part of this product.” False attestation will be treated as a violation. We make this easy during listing – we have a button that allows Creators to indicate whether the listing is AI-free or not.
Why we’re doing this
We respect the human craft that powers TTRPGs – illustration, cartography, writing, editing, and layout. A strict no-AI policy keeps our marketplace fair, protects creator livelihoods, and gives buyers confidence that what they’re supporting is the work of people, not prompts.
Enforcement & Process
- Submission Attestation
Creators must confirm: “No AI was used in any part of this product.” If there is any doubt from our team, we may request working files, sketches, drafts, or contractor details to verify human authorship. - Detection & Review
• Manual review by our team.
• Targeted automated signals to aid triage (flags are reviewed by humans).
• Community reporting with evidence links/screenshots. - Violations
• First violation: product removal + temporary account ban.
• Second violation (ever): permanent account ban and removal of all listings. - Existing Listings
All listings previously disclosed or detected as containing AI are being removed as part of this policy change. - Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, email support@heartofdaggers.com. Provide evidence of human creation (timestamps, WIP files, PSD/AI/INDD/Procreate files, sketch photos, contractor invoices, etc.). We’ll review promptly.
Prohibited Content & Practices
- AI-generated text (rules, lore, adventures, item writeups, etc.).
- AI-generated artwork, maps, tokens, icons, logos, UI, layouts, fonts created via AI, audio, or video.
- “Created” or “restyled” assets using AI (including “photo to painting,” “sketch to ink,” “remove background with AI,” “denoise with AI,” etc.).
- Stock assets that were themselves made with AI
If AI touched the creative surface, it’s not allowed.
Definitions
AI / Machine Learning tools
Any system that generates, predicts, or transforms creative content using machine-learned models (e.g., “generative,” “diffusion,” “LLM,” “style transfer,” “image-to-image,” “text rewrite/expand,” “AI mastering,” etc.).
AI-generated
Content produced wholly or partly by an AI system (including edited/refined outputs).
AI-assisted
Content where an AI system meaningfully alters or contributes creative expression (not just mechanics like spelling or compression).
