Massive and impressive in every sense of the word, she considers herself naturally superior and hows no weakness. Standing 13 feet tall, she has three arms and wears an elegant gown sewn with metal plates, serving as both court attire and armor. An enormous metal Heart beating at a frantic pace protrudes from her chest. As long as she possesses the Heart, she remains slender despite her excesses.

Features

Passives

  • Relentless (2)

The Baroness can be spotlighted up to 2 times times per GM turn. Spend Fear as usual to spotlight them.

  • Poisoned Claws

Anyone wounded by the Baroness’s claws must mark a Stress in addition to taking their damage.

  • Destroy The Heart

The Heart’s Difficulty is also 16. It has 4 HP, Thresholds of 10/20. All physical damage it takes is reduced by 10, and all magic damage it takes is reduced by 5.

  • Tear Out The Heart

As soon as the PCs decide to try tearing out the Heart without damaging it, start a countdown at 3. Tearing out the Heart requires a Strength (16) roll with disadvantage. Each success decreases the countdown by 1, and critical successes decrease it by 2.

Actions

  • Deadly Attraction
    stress 1

By marking 1 Stress, she can literally pull a target at Far range right beneath her boot. The targeted creature must succeed on a Strength (16) reaction roll to avoid being pulled into Melee with the Baroness and taking 2d20 physical damage. On a success, the target must mark 1 Stress.

  • Psychic Wave
    fear 3

Spend 3 Fears (after the first free use at the start of combat) for the Baroness to send out a psychic laugh that scrambles the minds of all her enemies at Far range. Targets make a Presence (16) reaction roll. On a critical success, they take no damage. On a success with Hope, they mark 1 Stress. On a success with Fear, they mark 1 HP. On a failure with Hope, they mark 1 Stress and 1 HP. On a failure with Fear, they mark 2 Stress and 2 HP.

  • Brass Heart
    fear 1

As long as she possesses the Heart, you can spend 1 Fear to clear 3 HP from the Baroness. You can even do this if she has checked all of her Hit Points. Clearly describe to your players that it is the Heart causing her to regenerate, so they fully understand that it is their target.

Reactions

  • True Form

If the Brass Heart is destroyed or torn out, the Baroness reverts to her true silhouette: a monstrous old woman, corrupted by magic and as fat as Louis. She can no longer regenerate using the Heart.
