When the Berrybog Crawler enters the scene, it lets out a loud menacing screech. Each target in Far range has to succeed on an Instinct or Presence Reaction roll or mark 2 Stress.
The Berrybog Crawler is not actually hostile towards the PCs - they just express sympathy in their own way. Regardless of what the PCs might think about the Berrybog Crawler, they are just here to give out gifts and make friends.
Mark a Stress to let the Berrybog Crawler place a small item of their choice into the PCs bag. This is meant as a gift.
Spend a Fear to let the Berrybog Crawler tackle their target out of sheer excitement. The PC must succeed on a Strength Reaction roll or fall to the ground, taking 1d6 physical damage.
When the PCs attack or act against the Berrybog Crawler, they will ball up and go into a defensive position changing their Thresholds to 16/32. While in this defensive position, every time they are attacked, they secret a foul-smelling liquid, causing the attacker to lose a Hope.
When a PC gifts something in return, the Berrybog Crawler will be satisfied and excited to have found a new friend. Thake the Berrybog Crawler Companion card.
