Denizen of Leng

Adversaries Designed by Maximilian Müller • Art by Denizen of Leng (Paizo Inc)

Adversary overview

Wrapped from head to toe in tattered leather robes, this creature appears almost human at first glance. The longer one looks, however, the more one becomes aware of strange and terrifying features.

This adversary is a combination of the statblocks of its respective counterparts in dnd5e, pf1 and pf2. It’s abilities might be a little overtuned so keep that in mind.

Features

Passives

  • Unusual Anatomy

Any critical attack against the denizen has a 50% chance to not deal the critical damage to it.

Additionally, any attack by the denizen against a PC that is vulnerable automatically crits.

Actions

  • Hypnotic Pattern

The denizen produces a weird, disorienting hypnotic color pattern in Close Range surrounding it. All PCs in range must roll a Instinct Reaction Roll. On a failure they mark 1 Stress and are Disoriented (Vulnerable) until they next roll with Hope.

  • Unnatural Regeneration
    stress 1

Spend 1 Stress to heal 2 HP.

Reactions

  • Uncanny Precision

If an attack by the denizen caused a PC to mark 2 or more HP, they must make a Strength Reaction Roll to not get corrupted by outwordly presence.

On a failure they lose 1d4 Hope. On a Success they lose 1 Hope. Any Hope that cannot be lost must be marked as Stress instead.
