This troublesome creature lives in fog-filled barrows and misty stone circles, and delights in causing trouble and strife for passing travelers. Occasionally, if particularly riled up, they will possess items to attack interlopers directly.

The poltergeist may spend a stress to inhabit an object within Close range. While possessing the object, use one of the appropriate stat blocks as described below.
- Two poltergeists within Close range may combine to form a Mist Poltergeist (Bruiser) in a large object (pile of crates, rocks, large tree)
- A medium object can be possessed by a poltergeist to form a Mist Poltergeist (Nimble)
- Several small objects can be possessed by a poltergeist to form a Mist Poltergeist (Horde)

If the Poltergeist marks all its HP in the possessed state, it returns to its normal form with HP it had before the possession.
