My take on a Sphinx Adversary for Daggerheart.
While flying, the Sphinx has +3 Evasion.
This adversary can be spotlighted up to three times per GM turn. Spend Fear as usual to spotlight them.
Make an attack roll against a creature within Very Close range. On a success, spend a Fear to have them take 3d20 + 5 Physical damage and become temporarily Cursed. While the target is Cursed, you can mark a Stress when the target rolls with Hope to make the roll be with Fear instead.
Mark a Stress to move up to Close range and then make an attack against a creature within Melee range with Advantage. On a success, they take 3d12 + 5 physical damage and become temporarily Restrained.
Declare a riddle an start a looping countdown (5). While they have the spotlight, PC's may attempt to answer the riddle, on an incorrect answer tick the countdown down and that player may not answer answer again until the countdown next triggers. On a correct answer, the countdown ends completely. When the countdown triggers, the Sphinx roars so loud time bows to them. Each player within Far range of the Sphinx must make a Strength Reaction Roll. On a failure, they mark three Stress as they age years in an instant, and are knocked back to Far range away from the Sphinx. On a success, they mark a Stress.
