Actions

  • Trick or Treat!
    fear 1

Spend a Fear to offer Gourdon's candy lantern to a PC within Close range. The target must choose:

    • Treat: Spend a Hope and offer Gourdon something he genuinely desires, at the GM's discretion. Clear a Stress and place a Treat token on Gourdon.

    • Trick: Make an Instinct Reaction Roll (15). On a failure, take 2d12 magic damage and become Vulnerable until your next roll with Hope.

  • Batty Delivery Service
    stress 1

Mark a Stress to send 2d4 Gourdon's bat interns after up to two targets within Far range. Make a separate standard attack against each target, dealing half damage on a success.  Each victim also receives an unsolicited candy advertisement.

  • Party Favors

Spend a Fear to offer a PC a piece of candy. The PC clears a Stress, but must try to speak in puns for the rest of the scene. Once each time they take the spotlight, if they speak in a pun, they gain a Hope. Otherwise, if they speak without making a pun, the GM gains a Fear.

Reactions

  • Three Treats, No Tricks

When Gourdon has three Treat tokens, he declares the party's manners “adequate, if disappointingly violent,” bows dramatically, and leaves the scene. He is considered defeated.

  • Pumpkin Insurance
    stress 1

When Gourdon would mark HP from an attack, mark a Stress to reduce the damage severity by one threshold. His head pops off, rolls up to Close range away, and his body frantically chases after it.
