A large thorned and poisonous flower with sharp teeth, that rises from the earth and walks on its three thick roots.
This creature can be used in encounters that occur in forests or jungles. GMs can have more than one and pair them with any adversaries than can be found in those locations (Deeproot Defender, Bramble Swarm, Bear, Dire Wolf).

You must spend a Fear to spotlight the adversary. While spotlighted, they can make their standard attack against all targets within range disregarding Momentum.

Make a ranged attack against a target within Far range. On a success, spend 2 Fear to deal 1d4+2 physical damage. A PC must succeed on an action roll of their choosing to resist getting Poisoned by this attack. While Poisoned, the PC takes 1d8 direct damage each time they roll with Fear. The Poisoned condition lasts until a PC clears 1HP or until the next rest.

When a PC within Melee range succeeds on an attack against the Toothed Nepent, mark a Stress. The Toothed Nepent flails its roots knocking all targets within Very Close range back to Far Range. Each target knocked back must make a Finesse Roll. On a failure, the target is Restrained until the Toothed Nepent takes Severe Damage.
