About this ancestry
Kitsune are intelligent, magical fox spirits with the legendary power of transformation, and connection to the spiritual world. They can resemble anthropomorphic or zoomorphic foxes, and even in their humanoid body, kitsune retain the tail, ears, and clawed feet of their canine cousins. Kitsune possess at least two tails - depictions with two, five, or nine tails are most common. On average, kitsune are 5 to 7 feet in height, and their skin and fur come in a wide range of hues and patterns based on their original fox form. Kitsune live up to a millennium, and their appearance is likely to remain youthful even as they progress from adulthood into old age. They can create blue will-o'-the wisp called Fox Fire, and either disgorge or summon it and use it against their foes. But the most iconic ability of a kitsune who has assumed a humanoid form is the ability to shift to their original fox form. This stressful act takes only a few seconds. As a fox, kitsune can speak, their senses become supernatural, and they can move with exceptional silence, masterfully impersonating their animal form.

Shapeshifting: Mark a Stress to transform into the shape of your originally fox form. When you do, your clothing and equipment meld into your form, and you gain no benefits from them while transformed. While in fox form, you can speak as normal, you're senses are supernatural, and you have advantage on Action Rolls that involve sneaking or deceive.
Fox Fire: You can use your Fox Fire, blue will-o'-the wisp, against a target or group of targets within Very Close range, treating it as an Instinct Weapon that deals d8 magic damage using your Proficiency.
