About this ancestry
Their body is a viscous and translucent mass that betrays their nature regardless of what form they assume. Possessing no bones or solid organs, their anatomy is extremely malleable:
Malleability: They can mimic the silhouette, face, and voice of any humanoid of their size, though their transparency prevents perfect camouflage.
Extreme Fluidity: They have the ability to momentarily dissolve their cohesion, allowing them to flow through cracks, locks, or tight spaces as if they were a liquid.
Interaction and Behavior
Oozekids usually assume humanoid forms as a conscious effort to navigate and understand a cosmos that feels alien to them.
Alien Curiosity: They are typically observant and mimetic. They interact with "solid races" through imitation, although their lack of internal organs (such as lungs for breathing or a stomach for conventional digestion) makes their social interactions sometimes seem strange or purely performative.
Equipment Symbiosis: Despite their liquid state, while maintaining a form with limbs, they can use standard clothing and armor effectively.
Place in the World
In the Mortal Realms, Oozekids can be found in various niches:
Alchemical Waste: As accidental byproducts in wizard laboratories or large cities where magical waste accumulates in the sewers.
Explorers of the Inaccessible: Due to their ability to seep through any opening, they are exceptional spies or treasure hunters in sealed ruins.
Incarnations of Magic: In worlds where mana is a physical substance, Oozekids are seen as the conscious manifestation of that energy.
Oozekid
Fluid beings made of a translucent slime, whose shape they can sculpt at will.
Fluid Identity: During a Short Rest or Long Rest, you can alter your face, silhouette, and voice to mimic that of any humanoid of your size; however, your translucent body always reveals your Oozekid nature. While maintaining a form with limbs, you can wear standard clothing and armor. You can mark a Stress to perform this alteration instantly without needing a rest.
Tactical Dissolution: On your turn or as a Reaction, you can spend a Hope to momentarily dissolve your form. When you do, you automatically clear the Restrained or Grappled conditions and can move through any space, crack, or lock that would allow the passage of liquid up to your normal movement limit.
