When the scene begins, designate an adversary as the Primary Combatant. When that adversary is defeated, the Heart’s corruption is halted.

Upon entering the Heart, all PCs lose a Hope. If they have no Hope to lose, they are Vulnerable until they make an action roll.

Choose a point in the scene. All targets within a Very Close range of that point must succeed on an Agility or Instinct Reaction Roll. Targets who fail are Restrained by roots and vines until they break free with a Strength roll.

The Very Earth TremblesFear 1
Spend a Fear to send a shock wave through the swamp, toppling your choice of 1d4 of the standing stones. All creatures withinVery Close range of those stones must make an Agility Reaction Roll. On a failure, the creature takes 3d20physical damage and is Restrained and Vulnerable until they break free, clearing both conditions, with a Strength roll. Creatures who succeed must mark a Stress.
Questions- Do the PCs notice cracks in any of the stones which indicate instability?
- Could the PCs use unstable stones to their advantage?

The Mire is Mine!
When the Primary Combatant enters the scene, begin a Countdown (Loop 3), which ticks down each time a PC rolls with Fear. When it triggers, black swarms of biting and stinging insects fly out from crevasses in the standing stones. All targets in the scene must make an Instinct Reaction Roll, taking 3d6 physical damage on a failure and half damage on a success.
Questions- Can the PCs do anything to shield themselves from the swarms?
- Do the insects remain and hamper visibility?
