  • Concealed Threats

The Difficulty of this Environment is equal to the Difficulty of the target monster the party is hunting with the highest difficulty. If none are currently being hunted, the Difficult is as listed in this statblock.

  • Clues Everywhere

As a monster moves through terrain, it tends to leave traces of its presence behind. A PC can attempt to track a monster through the clues it left behind by making an Instinct Roll. What they find depends on the outcome of their roll, based on the following criteria.
    - Critical Success: Find a direct trace of the monster. The PC can pick one monster they are hunting, they find the direction it went and the next roll that PC makes against it has advantage.
    - Success with Hope: Find a remnant of the monster. The PC finds proof that the monster was here, but with no direction.
    - Success with Fear: Learn that the monster might not have been in this area.
    - Any Failure: An ambush. Small monsters in the area attack the party for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
