Features

Passives

passive
  • The Banquet Table

Lavish dishes and drink flow freely- meat glazed with honey and spice, golden bread still steaming, and goblets refilled faster than anyone can protest. A PC that takes time to rest, eat, and converse clears 1d4+1 Stress. PCs who overindulge must make a Strength Reaction Roll to avoid drunken mishaps. Failure leads to slurred compliments, unguarded truths, or a moment of comic spectacle.

Actions

  • Party Time!

Take the Spotlight to designate an NPC as the Banquet Host. If they are not already in the scene, they immediately enter the scene to grand fanfare. The Banquet Host immediately calls for a change in tone- music swells, laughter erupts, and the evening shifts from formality to festivity. Courtiers loosen collars, nobles abandon protocol, and servants clear the center of the hall for games, dance, and bold entertainment. Each PC may choose how to join the revelry, such as by dancing, initiating a performance or a lighthearted competition. They then make an appropriate Action Roll. If they succeed, their actions are met with roaring applause and cheers.

  • The Toast of Triumph

An important NPC or the Banquet Host stands, glass aloft, calling for a toast to the PCs. Guests follow suit, eager to hear what the heroes will say. A PC can make a Presence Roll to inspire the room. On a success, the toast is met with roaring applause, and the PC has Advantage on all future Action Rolls related to social situations while in this environment. On a failure, the toast stumbles into awkward phrasing or unintended offense. The crowd’s polite silence masks discomfort and the PC marks a Stress.

  • The Whispered Deal

At the height of the banquet, a noble, guild representative, or cloaked stranger quietly requests a moment of the heroes’ time for a matter of urgent discussion.
