Oath Keeper

Subclasses Designed by Mal S

About these subclasses

The Oath Keeper upholds a sacred oath, and doing so lets them replenish Prayer Dice, a core Seraph feature. All of the features here (except for Pray) revolve around their sacred oath- upholding it, weaponizing it against those who act contrary to it, and using it to perform a critical feat without even needing to roll for it.

Oath Keeper

Oath Keeper

Spell trait: Presence

Play the Oath Keeper if you want to uphold the principles and convictions of a deity.

Foundation
Tier 1

Sacred Oath: Record an oath that your deity demands that you uphold. Once per rest, when you describe how you act in a way that upholds or embodies this oath, you can roll and regain one of your spent Prayer Dice. But if you act contrary to your Sacred Oath, you must reduce the value of one of your unspent Prayer Dice by one (to a minimum of 1). If you have no Prayer Dice or all of your unspent Prayer Dice have a value of 1, the GM gains Fear equal to your tier instead.

Pray: When you finish a long rest, you can spend a Prayer Die to remove Fear from the GM’s Fear pool equal to the value of the Prayer Die.

Specialization
Tier 2

Oath's Prowess: When you encounter one or more creatures who act contrary to your Sacred Oath, you gain the following benefits:

  • Gain a +2 bonus to your Evasion against them.
  • When you critically succeed on an attack against them, deal an additional amount of damage equal to your level.
  • You can spend a Prayer Die to force one of these creatures to mark Stress equal to the value of the Prayer Die. You can’t use this benefit on the same creature more than once per long rest.
Mastery
Tier 3

Hallowed Rewards: Your Prayer Dice are d6s instead of d4s.
