Pact of the Mourning

Spellcast Trait: Presence

Use the relentless sadness to power through your enemies, and Stress them out.

Foundation

Depths of Despair: Whenever you fail with Fear, you gain a Favor.

Veil of Tears: Spend a Favor to cloak yourself in a Veil of Tears until the end of the scene. Whenever you mark Minor, or Major damage from an attack, you may Spend a Favor to force the attacking creature to Mark a Stress. If the creature deals Severe damage, they automatically Mark a Stress, and you exit your Veil of Tears.

Specialization

Broken-Hearted Bellowing: Once per session, you may Spend any number of Favor to roll an equal number of Patron dice. On a result of 4 or higher, all adversaries within Close range must mark a Stress.

Bursting Tears: While in your Veil of Tears, you may make a Spellcast Roll against a target within Far range. On a success, they take d8 + your Presence trait magic Damage using your Proficiency, and gain a Favor.

Mastery

Swallowing Sadness: When you enter your Veil of Tears, you may Spend an additional Favor to coat the area in Close range in tears. As long as your Veil of Tears is active, you may Spend a Favor to temporarily Restrain a creature within Close range. If they get hit with an attack while Restrained, you may Spend a Favor to end the Restrained condition on them, and deal an additional 3d8 magic Damage. If a Restrained target marks its last Hit Point, you may Clear a Hit Point, or Clear a Stress. The Restrained condition ends if you drop out of your Veil of Tears.
