Warden of a Sunless World

About these subclasses

Inspired by the Pathos setting that orbits a black hole instead of a sun, this druid relies using their gravity tokens to lock down enemies. At the cost of Hope generation, they can move others across the battlefield, protect their allies and Restrain their enemies. At mastery level, you are more likely to succeed on your rolls while triggering your Dark Impulse to stress out your enemies.

Warden of a Sunless World

Spellcast Trait: Instinct

Battlefield control with a touch of Dread

Foundation

Gravity Well: After a long rest, you gain a number of Gravity tokens equal to your Instinct. On a roll with Hope, you can gain a token instead of gaining a Hope. You can store a number of tokens equal to your Instinct. Make a Spellcast Roll (12). On a success, spend a token to either push/pull a target between Melee or Very Close range of you. An adversary moved this way becomes temporarily Restrained. When you take a long rest, clear all unspent tokens.

Specialization

Fundamental Force: Allies moved by your Gravity Well are Protected until their next action roll. Attack rolls against a Protected ally have disadvantage. Additionally, adversaries Restrained by your Gravity Well are also Vulnerable.

Dark Impulse: When you succeed with Fear on an action roll against a target, you can spend a Gravity token to use your Gravity Well feature as part of the action. Targets Restrained this way must mark a Stress.

Mastery

Collapsing Star: Choose a group of adversaries within Very Close range of a point you can see and spend a Gravity token for each. Make a Spellcast Roll against them. Targets you succeed against are pulled into Melee range of that point, become temporarily Restrained, and take 3d10 magic damage.

All-Consuming Darkness: Once per session, you can become Consumed until the end of the scene. While Consumed, use a d20 as your Fear Die.
