Hellion

Transformations Designed by Bard & Raven • Art by Elven Maid Inn

About this transformation

Hellions are demonic creatures easily discernible by their multiple pairs of horns, scarlet-colored skin and scaly tail. Whether they were born with it, gained it as a result of a magical effect or curse, the breaking of a contract or received this power from a demonic entity, Hellions have a troubled relationship to their vices. One vice defines their whole personality and they cannot easily resist acting on it when the opportunity arises or fear to literally overheat their bodies. Their ties to the planes below allow them to craft winged imps from their body to do their bidding. These imps may be used to muddle enemies or burn away their resistances.

Features

Demonic Vices

Work with your GM to decide on a prevalent vice of your character. Roll a d6 every time an occasion presents itself to indulge in this vice. One a 3-5, you have to act on it. On a 6, you burst into flames, dealing d8 magic damage using your proficiency to any creature in Very Close range.

Imp-lications

Mark any number of Stress to summon that many flying Imps from your body. When they would mark an HP, they implode and vanish.

Manipulate: Make a Presence or Spellcast Roll against an Adversary in Melee range. On a success, an Imp merges with the Adversary and causes them to become temporarily Muddled. While Muddled, they cannot tell friend from foe.

Snatch: Command an Imp to manipulate or retrieve an object not larger than them from Very Far range.

Burn: Command an Imp to rush an Adversary in Far range and explode. They must succeed on a Reaction Roll (15) or lower their thresholds by your Tier. This effect can stack.

If an imp survives until the end of the scene, they are unleashed into the world.

Transformation questions

  1. How did you change when you became a Hellion and how did your friends react?
  2. You once caused serious harm when you could not resist to act on your vice. What was it and what were the implications for you?
  3. How do you interact with your imp servants? Do you let them roam free once they did your bidding?
  4. How did your prevalent vice change your everyday life?
  5. Do you try to prevent yourself from acting on your vice or do you fully lean into it?
  6. Who or what cursed you to become a Hellion and is it potentially reversible?
