Chiselheart is a handcrafted, Daggerheart compatible re-imagination that blends the best parts of Daggerheart with the core ideas of the OSR (Old School Revival) gaming realm. It's designed to seamlessly translate fresh Daggerheart characters into your favorite OSR titles by providing easy translations for existing OSR creatures.
This book lays out how to play with Tier-0 characters—adventurers just starting out—and includes a level progression to take them from OSR-adjacent to Daggerheart Tier 1, Level 1. This allows them to be used alongside any standard Daggerheart creations.
It also includes a system for creating improvised weapons and armor from scraps you find, a type of makeshift Tier-0 gear.
The book features a full campaign frame, Delvers Deep, designed to support dungeoneering with mechanics for hirelings, stat blocks for 23 Tier-0 and Tier-1 creatures, and a world of strange mysteries for you and your table to play through and develop together.
Finally, it contains the outline for a one-shot adventure, The Soap Merchants, in the vein of an OSR dungeon crawl.
This book will be updated with rules for Westmarches hex crawling, pirating and sailing adventures, military campaigns and mass combat, and apocalyptic Borg-style gaming within the Chiselheart framework if there is interest. Currently I'm working on Eastward Rising, an inversion of the West Marches style of campaign in which formerly dominated populations reclaim their heritage from their former rulers.
