  • Ritual Phase 1

When the ritual begins, Fal Thaysis is not targetable. The first step is to create a new chalice. A Deeproot Defender appears at the end of the grove, opposite the spring. Once the Defender is slain, a new chalice grows from its corpse. Once the PCs take the new chalice, The Corruptor enters the scene in Close range of one of the PCs and is immediately spotlighted. Once its first phase is defeated, phase 2 begins.

    Questions
    • How does the new chalice look different from the old one?
  • Ritual Phase 2

At the start of this phase, The Corruptor becomes untargetable again and manifests as thorny vines that erupt from the ground and Restrain all the PCs. They must somehow escape the vines and bring the chalice back to the spring. Two larger Corruption Spawn (Giant Scorpion) manifest next to the spring. Once a PC places the chalice in the hollow on the arch, The Corruptor returns to the scene in Phase 2 form, in Close range of one of the PCs, and is immediately spotlighted. Once it is defeated, phase 3 begins.

    Questions
    • How do you free yourself from the thorny vines?
  • Ritual Phase 3

The Corruptor becomes untargetable again as a windstorm that blows the PCs out to Close range from the spring. Then, the Corruptor enters the ground, splitting the earth and creating chasms. The PCs must make it back to the chalice, which has begun overflowing with pure healing water. They must drink from it, which immediately heals 1d4 HP and 1d4 Stress and allows any who have drank to all participate in a single Tag Team roll. Once all the Corruption Spawn are defeated, Fal Thaysis returns to the scene in its final Phase 3 form in Close range of a PC and is immediately spotlighted.

    Questions
    • How does your character feel upon imbibing the healing water?
