Host (Draft)

About this class

Hosts, whether through accident or intent, have become vessels for some other being. Rather than becoming victims to a parasitic invasion, hosts have learned to adapt to and maybe even cooperate with their strange passengers, combining their strengths to become more effective and more deadly. It is, however, a delicate balancing act, and if not careful the host may themselves become the passenger.

Class features

  • Balance

You empower yourself by working in concert with your entity. When using certain abilities granted by your subclass, mark notches on the Balance Track. (The Balance Track is represented by a nine notch track, with the first three notches labeled 'stable', the middle three notches labeled 'balanced', and the last three labeled 'unbalanced'. When you are in the Balanced section of the track, you gain additional benefits. When you are in the Unbalanced section of the track, you gain the benefits of being Balanced, but you are also Vulnerable until you are no longer Unbalanced. (Some additional, harsher consequence for completely filling up the track?) (The track probably resets on a rest.)

  • Find Your Center

You can Mark a Stress to clear a number of notches on the Balance track up to your tier.

Class items

  • A small vial containing a specimen
  • A strange crystal
