I'm looking for anyone with some tips and tricks for digitally painting battle maps.

I want to create some Daggerheart Adventures, and I would like to provide the battle maps for them.

I used to be a digital artist (mostly book covers and character art) but I've never tried my hand at painting a battle map.

Additionally, just any general tips and tricks for assembling a dynamic digital battle map wouldn't be turned down.

I love making physical battle maps, and building in dynamic changes. A tower that collapses, or rubble that gets cleared ext. But a static top down map feels more challenging.

Not sure what you are looking for.... have you tried using Map making software like Inkarnate?

I have the skills and tools to make maps similar to Inkarnate from scratch, what I don't have is the experience in it. I was hoping that there would be some creatives here who would have the experience to give me some pointers. The "I wish I knew this when I started painting maps" kind of thing.

Gotcha... I have only theory and design concepts ie. " world building" as it pertains to maps but the tech side...nope nope..I use Inkarnate to create.
