The Ameraldi Coast
The Ameraldi Coast Campaign Frame is a pirate themed adventure setting, with a dash of political drama as rival empires clash, and Cthulhu-like sea creatures that invade this world when they cross over from the Ghost Realm.
Includes a detailed map of the Ameraldi Coast with 20 Map Variants (fully labeled and unlabeled), and a 6 page Campaign Frame PDF with flavorful worldbuilding and info about the Ameraldi Coast.
Everything is inspired by the real world scenarios that led to the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean, between the 1650's and the 1730's. My goal was basically to make this setting the ideal pirate playground, a wide and deep sandbox suited for any pirate-themed campaign. This isn't a complicated or mechanically compelx campaign frame, and it can easily modified or expanded upon by any GM's, and I encourage you to do so to make it your own.
The inspirations and touchstones for this setting were Pirates of the Caribbean, Sea of Thieves, Black Sails, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Cthulhu, Monkey Island series, Sid Meier’s Pirates, Sunless Sea, Subnautica, Star Wars (via Tatooine’s Binary Suns).
There are 6 Nationalities for players (and GMs) to use in character creation, as well as for NPC creation. It can be easily added to or modified, or even fully discarded if it's not to your liking. Each Nationality also has a couple of potential background questions for character backstory creation too. Nationality does not replace Ancestry or Background, it's just there as an additional way to tie your characters into the history of this world.
The PDF also details the worldbuilding, like the Twin Suns and Twin Moons of this world, the Ghost Realm and the Rift Portals that take you to and from that strange dimension, the Cthulhu-like Leviathans, a small Bounty/Wanted System, and a 1-page Quick Start Story to help kick off your adventure if you like. And, even more beyond all of that :)
I'm also including a limited Photoshop file of this map, where all labels and icons can be edited, added to, removed, moved around, and so on. What this means is that the map itself is FLATTENED into one image, but all the text labels, city markers, and so on, can be moved around and toggled off/on. The text labels for all locations and regions can be changed though, and will retain the text appearance to match the way I have it on the map as is. This is a useful way for some people to make edits and additions to the map that I couldn't account for. It also has Filters set up to alter the appearance of the map, including switching it to the Ghost Realm version. Just a 1 click toggle, along with sepia filters for a parchment look, or greyscale filters to make it printer friendly. There are also night time filters and warm/cool filters (ideal for summer/winter variants).
