Social countdown
I created a neat countdown. I predetermined how long it would take for an NPC to lose patience with a player character. Often in my games the players will " run out the clock" on an NPC until they give up and relent ..pretty much kids with every parent in the world.
SO in created this countdown. Each failure moves the countdown towards a shutting up of the NPC [ Roll with fear moves it 2 spots down]...if they roll with hope with a social trait or roll...it ticks the countdown back up prolonging the conversation. its kind of a sea saw style countdown that gives the social interaction some tension. Its not perfect but is a solid foundation.
