Ancient Thunder Dragon
Eldest of all beings
Motives & Tactics: Acquire, Create, Command, Eat, Oversee
Eldest of all beings
The imperious thunder dragon is the marshal of the skies. With portfolios over storms, crops and the weather, the thunderer is a critical part of the governance of the world and the harmony of the people. However thunder dragons are extremely prideful and can be dangerous to approach alone. While most thunder dragons serve the Celestial Emperor without question, some do go rogue on occasion, precipitating wild and destructive storms. Furthermore, even the most dutiful thunder dragon might consider eating an intruder or two into their lairs. Most thunder dragons build impressive palaces at the bottom of the ocean which they fill with powerful magical relics, but, unlike river dragons, they are far more likely to be found in the skies than under the waves. Thunder dragons can fly for days at a stretch and are happiest in the air where they delight in creating fanciful cloud pictures.
The Thunder Dragon creates a tier 4 Thunder Dragon Lair environment where it can be found when not in the skies.
This adversary can be spotlighted up to 4 times per GM turn. Spend Fear as usual to spotlight them.
The Thunder Dragon is able to breathe underwater and to fly it suffers no penalties to movement or action for being underwater.
The Dragon may mark one stress to breathe a line of electricity, sound and wind. Everyone in a straight line up to very far range must make an agility reaction roll or take 420 magic damage.
The Dragon may mark one stress to change their shape into a humanoid of any age, a giant eagle, a whale or dolphin of any species or a salmon. The shape-change has no effect on their stats.
Once per scene, the Thunder Dragon may spend 1 fear to call a grand tempest. This creates a tier 4 grand tempest environment centered on the dragon. The Thunder Dragon is immune to any negative characteristics of the tempest.
The Thunder Dragon has a pool of 4d6 that it may grant to other creatures to add to any action or reaction. This pool of dice refreshes at sunrise each day. A player who gains these dice clears all dice when they initiate a long rest.
Once per scene, mark a Stress to summon 2d4 additional adversaries, which appear at Far range.
When this adversary makes a successful attack against a PC, you gain a Fear.
