Adversary overview
A withered corpse vampire with poisonous claws and teeth.
While the majority of vampyr have the semblance of life in their undead state those of House Mortanax have a visage only of death. Appearing as withered or skeletal corpses, these vampyr are feared by mortals and reviled by the other houses for their proclivity of feeding on not only the living but also other undead.
Caring not for the rules of men or vampyr the members of House Mortanax molder away in swampy castles and rotting crypts in an area known as the Shadenfen. A trackless swamp where even the vampyr of House Mortanax are not the most dangerous inhabitants.
Singular in nature, these vampyr hate one another almost as much as they hate everyone else. Thankfully siring amongst the members of House Mortanax is exceedingly rare as their bite and feeding is incredibly poisonous to mortals. Rarely does one survive the transition to become a vampyr in House Mortanax.
While rarely used by members of this house the other houses have declared a white vampire skull on a black field to be the sigil of House Mortanax.
Despite their frail and skeletal appearance the raw strength of these vampyr is second only to that of House Sylvanus and on par with that of members of House Vularick. The vampyr of House Mortanax can turn into a mist making them difficult to defeat. Although their one weakness is that they are tied to a single coffin and must rest in it each day or face dissolution. They jealously guard the location of their coffin often having several decoys to protect themselves. Knowing the location of a House Mortanax vampyr’s coffin can keep a powerful hold over them.
