Mawdrey

Adversaries Designed by Bard & Raven • Art by The Graphics Fairy

Adversary overview

A tiny and fragile looking flowering plant with a large red flower head and the ability to speak. Pointy blue petals form its mouth.

A tiny but colorful flower happy to talk to adventurers. She is the only one of her kind around and there are so few people to talk to which makes her feel lonely.
Mawdrey is a very good listener so she knows a lot of the happenings in her environment. She is happy to provide information in exchange for food as she is always hungry. Her current location is so barren and the earth tastes yucky.

Features

Passives

  • Wild Growth

Mawdrey will demand to be fed with blood and flesh. The first time each day she ingests animal-based foodstuffs, place a token on this card. After a long rest with a new token, Mawdrey will grow in size. After 4 tokens have been placed on this card and another long rest occured, Mawdrey will transform into her new form (Mawdrey II, Tier 3 Bruiser), becoming mobile and leaving her rootbed.

  • I Hear Everything

Mawdrey knows all the gossip and rumours of her surroundings. She is willing to convey one piece of information in exchange for being fed. When the PCs accept the bargain, the GM rolls a luck roll. On a 1-10, the information is pure gossip and not helpful to the group. On an 11-20, the information is truthful and helpful towards the current problem or objective. Narrate either outcome as if Mawdrey is convinced of its truthfulness.

Actions

  • FEED ME!

Mark a Stress to let Mawdrey weaponize her cuteness and helplessness, convincing the PCs to feed her. A PC must succeed on a Presence Reaction Roll or mark a Stress and feed Mawdrey.

Reactions

  • Garbage Chute

Eventually, Mawdrey will devour anything placed in front of her - erasing evidence, destroying harmful objects, and even consuming whole bodies or large pieces of metal, wood, or ceramics.
