Minor Ice Elemental

Adversary overview

A towering figure of living frost and drifting snow, its form half-defined by swirling wind and cracking ice, standing unnaturally still as the cold deepens around it.

The Ice Elemental appears as a mass of frozen air and jagged ice, its body constantly reshaped by the wind it commands. Frost crawls outward from its presence, stiffening limbs and dulling sound. It does not roar or charge—its threat is quiet and inevitable, pressing inward as the temperature drops and escape grows harder with every step.

    stress 2

Mark 2 Stress, then choose a point within Far range. The ground in Very Close range of the selected area becomes slick ice until the start of the next Minor Ice Elemental Spotlight.
    • Enemies in the area have –1 Evasion.
    • Allies gain +1 to attacks rolls against targets standing on the ice.
    • Enemies that try to leave the area must make an Agility Reaction Roll (13). On a failure, they become temporarily Vulnerable.

  • Ice Spikes

Mark a Stress to choose a point within Far range. The ground within Close range of that point immediately bursts with ice spikes. All creatures within this area must make an Agility Reaction Roll. Targets who fail take 2d8+1 physical damage from spikes. Targets who succeed take half damage and mark a stress.

  • Howling Gale

A freezing wind sweeps the field and persists until the Elemental takes damage. While this effect lasts, all creatures within Close range that attempt to move closer to the Elemental must make an Agility Reaction Roll (15). On a failure, they must mark 1 Stress for each range they attempt to move.

Reactions

  • Thermal Fracture

When the Ice Elemental takes fire damage, its form cracks violently, dealing 2d6+2 magic damage to all creatures in within Very Close range. The Elemental immediately marks all its Stress and cannot use the Howling Gale or Frostbound Ground actions until the end of its next spotlight.
