Adversary overview

A massive cave-dwelling bat-spider hybrid with a swollen abdomen, grasping limbs, and a lamprey-like maw built to consume prey whole.

I love the Silkwing design from the Incredible Creatures, by Alan Tucker, but I needed more options for an encounter that I was planning. So I tried to follow the same principles and ended with this version of a Solo adversary.

  • Gliding Leap

    The Devourer can mark a Stress to move up to Far range instead of Close range before taking an action.

    Mark a Stress. All targets within Close range must make a Strength Reaction Roll (14). On a failure, they are knocked off balance and become Vulnerable until their next roll with Hope and you gain a Fear.

  • Devour
    fear 1

    Spend a Fear and make an attack against a target within Melee range. On a success, the target is grappled and pulled into the Devourer’s maw. While grappled this way, the target becomes Restrained and Vulnerable and takes 1d10+4 physical damage. An Ally can attempt to free them with a successful Strenght Roll (15).
