A Roc at Tier 1 is not yet the continent‑shaking sky‑titan of legend. It is a young giant bird, already large enough to blot out the sun for a heartbeat but still growing into its mythic destiny. Its presence on the rocky plateau signals that the land is shifting toward danger, destiny, or both.
The young Roc’s wings stretch wider than a farmhouse roof, feathers edged in metallic blues and storm‑gray streaks. When it lands, the ground shivers. When it cries, the mountains answer with echoes. Its talons can lift a horse, though it prefers prey that fights back.

A Tier 1 Roc fights with momentum and intimidation:

It opens with a dive to scatter the party.

It grabs isolated targets to force the group to react.

It uses wind blasts to push heroes toward cliff edges.

It retreats to the air when threatened, circling for another strike.

It hesitates near deep cracks where its wings can’t spread.

It avoids the cliffs where skinwalkers gather.

It is drawn to bright magic or loud sounds, which can be used to lure it.

It protects its nest fiercely—destroying or stealing from it enrages the Roc.
