About this ancestry
Gnomes are typically small humanoids with conical heads and the ability to teleport short distances. While the average gnome is about 3 feet in height, their proportionately long arms and large hands give them an extended reach for their size. In contrast, their square frames have shorter torsos and legs. Alongside these characteristics, gnomes are easily identified by their softly pointed ears and wide eyes. Their heads are large, and the conical shape varies by family. Gnomes also inherit their minor teleportation ability from their parents, with families exhibiting their own manifestations when disappearing and reappearing. These effects can include small clouds of smoke, motes of light, or simply appearing to evaporate into thin air. Gnomes are known to begin grasping and holding objects from a very young age, and their hands remain dexterous over their 200-year lifespan even when their bodies have slowed from age.
