Oris are long lived humanoids who tend to be graceful, overly adapted to their environment, and intrinsically magical, although some of them, the Ororis, have lost their connexion to their ancestors innate magic. While the Oris age, they do not die of old age, and it is theorized they could be eternal. However, as the weight of the world pushes ever more harder on their shoulders, as sorrow, remorse and other negative sentiments weigh on their souls, they dim and start to here the Calling, the Song of Manilien's Afterlife, when they sleep, and, as time goes by, in their waking hours too, and they have to display incredible willpower to resist it as they get older and older. One day or night, the beauty and joy of the Calling becomes too hard to resist, too tempting, and their souls depart for the Realm of the Ancient Deity of Life, leaving an empty shell behind.
