Sparkcrafter

Classes Designed by tudy • Art by Joyce Maureira

About this class

Sparkcrafters operate in the space between machinery and magic. Unlike wizards, who channel forces through the exact replication of formulas and intonations, a sparkcrafter creates devices to capture wild arcane energy. Runes and glyphs secure this energy and shape it into the desired effects. Becoming a sparkcrafter requires equal parts rigorous study and bold experimentation. Sparkcrafters are often venerated in their community, as they can repair or create mundane and magical mechanisms alike. Their competence and benevolence can make one easily forget that energy, even if harnessed, can still be used to devastating effects. Because of their often generous temperament, people tend to underestimate sparkcrafters, forgetting that harnessed power can be every bit as devastating as wild magic.

Class features

  • Sparkcrafting

You have Sparkcraft Item slots equal to your tier. Each can hold one ability or one spell from your domain cards. At the beginning of a session or during a long rest, you can fill or replace each slot. When slotting a Sparkcraft Item, place a number of tokens on it equal to your Proficiency.

To use a slotted spell or ability, you must remove a token from it. The slotted domain card does not count towards your loadout's domain card maximum.

During a short rest, refresh the tokens on each Sparkcraft Item slot to your Proficiency.
