Spellthief

About this class

The spellthief is a class that specialise in stealing spells.
Warning, as with all homebrew check that you GM is ok with you using this class, making sure they are aware they need to be prepared for you to gain access to any and all spells/magic attacks that adversaries can use, so will need to have a player version of each ready before you encounter them.

Hope feature

Keep spell
Whenever you have access to a spell you do not know, you can spend 3 hope to permanently gain access to it, replacing a previously learned spell if necessary. You can only permanently gain a number of spells equal to your tier before you have to replace previously gained ones to permanently gain access to a new one. There is no limit on the number of spells you can temporarily gain access to.

Class features

  • Return magic

    Whenever you are the target of an adversary's spell/magic attack, you can mark a Stress to gain access to that spell or attack in order to use it against that adversary. You lose access to the spell/attack at the end of your next spotlight.

  • Replicate magic

    When an ally uses a spell/magic attack, you can spend 1 Hope to gain access to that spell or attack until the end of your next spotlight.

  • - A note book full of incorrect spells
  • - A magic orb that glows colours based on your emotions
  • - A magic suppressing shackle, that no longer works
  • - Some other non functional magic trinket
