Each time you fail an Action Roll by 5 or more, reduce your Hope die one size - each size has its own Bane and Boon. All effects are cumulative.
This curse can only be undone if all deities in the vicinity are vanquished. You may spend 1 Hope during your spotlight to increase the die size 1 step.

BOON: When you spend a Hope, Clear a Stress -

BANE: If a 6 is rolled on your Hope die, the GM gains 6 Fear.
BOON: If a 1 is rolled on your Hope die, you gain 6 Hope. -
Doomspiral d4
BANE: If your Hope die would be reduced; make a Death Move, resetting your Hope die to a d12.
- Keep on fighting!: Get up immediately with 1 HP but gain a Scar. Describe what your Scar looks like and permanently cross off a Hope slot from your character sheet.
- Blaze of Glory: Your character embraces death as it challenges the Gods one last time. Take one action which Critically Succeeds and narrate what your death looks like.
BOON: When you roll a failure with hope, treat it as a success.
About this environment
Fighting Gods (or their manifestations) should not be treated lightly. Banes and Boons should help emphasize the cost of defying as well as the resilience and tenacity mortals.
This is being used as a part of the Final Fight for my campaign.
