Start a Countdown (3). Tick it down each time a PC rolls a Success with Hope. When it reaches 0, they manage to locate a hatch or lever that reveals a hidden passage.

When the PCs enter this environment, they see a number of possible places where secrets may be hidden. Roll 2d6. There are secrets hidden in the two corresponding places based on the the list below:

1. Inside the Bookcase (a note in a book)

2. Under the Bed (a small chest of stolen or lost items)

3. Beneath the Desk (a secret compartment with a letter inside)

4. Behind the Painting (a safe with a severed head inside)

5. Under the Rug (crude map of town with Xs at several locations)

6. Inside the Pantry (a powder used to knock people unconcious)

A PC who succeeds an Instinct or Finesse roll is able to find a hidden secret.

Spend a Fear to have a deer head trophy fall out of the wall slightly. PCs in Very Close range must mark a Stress.
