Filtration Requirement
The forest air is lethal. The party is equipped with Artifa Breather-Masks. These masks protect against passive inhalation but are fragile and can be stressed by high-density pockets of mist. Inhaling the unfiltered mist of the Lung is like swallowing shards of glass and liquid shadow. The Ether seeks to rewrite your biology from the inside out.If a character's mask is removed, broken, or fails a check, they suffer Ether-Invasion: The character immediately marks 1 HP and 1 Stress. Until they find clean air or repair their mask, they are Vulnerable and their "Radiant Hue" flickers.

Misty haze
This forest is supercharged with Ether. Any character using Magic weapons or spells gains +2 to Damage, but if they roll with Fear, they must mark 1 Stress as the ambient magic overloads their senses.
Actions
action-
Mistling AmbushFear 1
Mistling Stalkers (forest animals merged with living mist) emerge from the haze. They gain Advantage on their first attack against any character currently suffering from Ether-Invasion or a Clogged filter.
Reactions
reaction-
—Fear 1
The GM can use 1 Fear to make a sudden swell of mist appear, overpowering the masks. All characters must make an Instinct (14) check.
Success: The mask holds.
Failure: The character's filter is "Clogged." They have Disadvantage on all rolls requiring physical exertion (Strength/Agility) as they struggle to breathe through the grime until they spend an action to clear it.Questions- How does your character feel as tiny powderized crystals fill their lungs?
-
Crystal Snare
Razor-sharp vines hidden among the ferns.
Trigger: Moving at full speed without an Investigation check.
Effect: Agility (14) check. On failure, take 1 HP damage and be Restrained. -
Mist SporeFear 1
A flower, mushroom, spore filled with concentrated Ether-vapor.
Trigger: Stepping on the plant or interacting with it.
Effect: The player is sprayed with condensed ether powder. They are immediately subjected to Ether-Invasion as the sheer density of the vapor bypasses their mask.
About this environment
Atmosphere: A dense, shimmering canopy of translucent leaves. The air is a humid, glowing haze of magenta and cyan spores that taste like ozone and honey—but beneath the sweetness lies the jagged, acidic rot of Nether to some degree.
