Features

Passives

passive
  • Slippery Edge — Passive

A narrow, wet ledge hugs the rushing river, offering treacherous footing.

Traversing the ledge requires two Agility Rolls.

On a success, the PC advances safely.
On a failure, the PC takes 1d6 physical damage and is pulled into the river, entering the Dangerous Current.
If the failure occurs on the first roll, the PC automatically can roll a second Agility Roll to see if they regain their footing or take an additional 1d6 physical damage.
If the second roll is a failure, then then the PC has disadvantage navigating the first part of the Dangerous Current.

If PCs use a rope, assist each other, or use another method to keep from harm, they can make the rolls with advantage.

  • Dangerous Current

The river surges through tight stone channels, threatening to overwhelm anyone caught within it.

Traversing the current requires an Agility Roll. A PC who entered the water due to a failed roll on Slippery Edge has disadvantage on their action roll.

On a success with hope, the PC approaches the waterfall descent.
On a success with fear, they also approach the waterfall descent but must mark a Stress.
On a failure, they take 1d12 physical damage, get dragged to the waterfall descent, and must mark a Stress.

  • Grasp for Stability

A PC may attempt to stabilize themselves before the waterfall descent by grabbing rocks or bracing against the current.

Make an Agility or Strength Roll. A PC who attempts to stabalize after a failure in Dangerous Content has disadvantage on their roll.

On a success, you can commence your descent.
On a failure, you take 1d20 physical damage, land in the basin below, and become Vulnerable.

  • Controlled Descent

The river spills into a vertical shaft, where slick rocks offer a desperate path downward alongside the waterfall.

Climbing down requires two Agility or Strength Rolls.

On a success, the PC descends safely.
On a failure, they slip and must mark a Stress.
On a failure with fear, they lose their grip and fall:
If on the first roll, take 2d12 physical damage and land in the basin below.
If on the second roll, take 1d12 physical damage, land in the basin below.
