Bridge Integrity
Select and place a Countdown Die (recommended d10). If the Countdown reaches zero the bridge collapses (see the Collapse feature below). Each of the following causes the Countdown to reduce by 1.
* Player rolls with Fear (this doesn't replace the effect of rolling with Fear).
* An attack misses a target and the target is within melee distance of the bridge.
* The bridge is hit by an attack targeting it.
* Failing rolls associated with the Watch Your Step or Fall Through features below.
* The GM uses the Hold On! move below. -
Watch Your Step
The bridge is hanging by a thread, attempting to move while on the bridge requires an Agility Reaction Roll, Success means they may move up to a close distance unless they use an ability that allows further movement. Failure means they are immediately targeted by the Fall Through action below without requiring a Fear to be spent and the Countdown decreases by 1.
-
Collapse
When the countdown reaches zero the bridge collapses. All creatures and PC's on the bridge make a Strength Reaction Roll to grab hold of something. Failure results in falling into the chasm and taking 1d100+15 physical damage. Those that succeed manage to hold onto the breaking bridge and collide with the closest cliffside taking 1d12+4 physical damage. Climbing up the broken bridge and ropes requires a Strength Action Roll.
Actions
action-
Fall ThroughFear 1
Spend a Fear to have a PC fall through the bridge and become Restrained and Vulnerable as the dangle below the bridge by ropes/vines. A PC or helpful ally must make a Strength Action Roll to break these conditions and return them to the topside of the bridge. Failure on this roll causes the Countdown to decrease by 1 and they stay tangled below.
-
Hold On!Fear 1
Spend a Fear as the bridge swings violently back and forth and reduces the Bridge Countdown by 1. Additionally, PC's must make a Strength Reaction Roll to hold on for dear life. Those that fail Mark a Stress.
