  • Being Chased!!!

    As the event begins, introduce a Catch Countdown (10) for the Creature and an Escape Countdown (8), for the PCs. If the Catch Countdown reaches 0 first, the creature catches the PCs. If the Escape Countdown reaches 0 first, the PCs escape. Advance the countdowns when a PC makes an Action Roll based on the following:

    - Critical Success: Escape Countdown ticks down by 3 - Activates Help!
    - Success with Hope: Escape Countdown ticks down by 2
    - Success with Fear: Both countdowns tick down by 1 - Activate Adrenaline
    - Failure with Hope: Catch Countdown ticks down by 2
    - Failure with Fear: Catch Countdown ticks down by 3 - Allows Creature's Turn to be used.

    Every time you roll a Success with Fear, you have to Mark a Stress.

    On a Failure with Fear, along with ticking the Catch Countdown by 3, the creature manages to attack one of the PCs. Roll a die to decide which one and Spend a Fear to use the creature's standard attack against them.

  • Help!

    On a Critical Success, this ability is activated. An NPC comes up to help the group in some way. If the Catch Countdown is 5 or more, or the Escape Countdown is 4 or less, the group describes how this NPC guarantees their safe passage.

About this environment

The group is traversing through a thick forest or jungle when they stumble upon a creature or group of creatures that clearly outmatch them. They have to flee, they need to escape.
If they don’t, death moves await.
