Motive:
To safely transport goods of exceedingly high value across the Sablewood, conduct perfectly fair trades, and ultimately find the lost treasure rumored to be hidden in the Cradle of the Forgotten Gods.
An anthropomorphic turtle with a large, patterned domed shell. He moves quite slowly through the Sablewood, but despite his pace and the exceedingly high value of the goods he carries, no raider or beast dares disturb his journey. He carries no weapons, preferring to absentmindedly toss a small stone back and forth between his hands while he speaks
Unphased Retaliation
Trigger: A PC or NPC attempts to intimidate, threaten, or pressure Will to get a better deal.
Effect: Will casually tosses a small stone back and forth between his hands, completely unphased. He leverages his unspoken, legendary reputation, forcing the instigator to roll with disadvantage on their Presence action. If they fail, they must pay him a handful of gold to make amends or face the wrath of the Sable Sinecure.
Goods of Exceedingly High Value
Trigger: The party seeks a rare item, a magical artifact, or a piece of Tier 2/Tier 3 gear.
Effect: Will opens his packs to reveal he carries exactly what they need. Because he is "Fair" in his dealings, he offers a flat, non-negotiable exchange: a steep cost in gold,piece of actionable lore leading toward the Cradle of the Forgotten Gods. This transaction causes any player taking advantage of this transaction must mark a stress.
Wanderborne Wisdom
Choice: Choose to either mark a stress or spend a hope to trust Will
Trigger: The party is lost in the Sablewood or seeking information about ancient ruins.
Effect: Drawing on his Wanderborne heritage and decades of walking the Sablewood's paths, Will shares a dry but incredibly accurate piece of advice. He grants a PC advantage on their next Knowledge or Instinct roll to navigate the woods or recall history about the Forgotten Gods.
