About these subclasses

Someone suggested that a translation of Zealot Barbarian should be a Guardian, as opposed to Seraph, which is what I did with it. But it makes me think about what would a “Zealot”-like Guardian would be. And while it doesn’t have a lot of the features that are similar to a 5e Zealot Barbarian, I think what this subclass does is give a little more OOMPH to the Guardian’s Unstoppable ability, as well as some added fire-power. I think it works, and makes sense, and is fun.

Believer

Use your Faith to imbue you with power, and perseverance.

Foundation

Enduring Belief: While you are Unstoppable, Mark a Stress to reduce your Unstoppable die by your Tier to a Minimum of 1.

Believer's Binding: Whenever you make a successful attack, Spend a Hope to force the target to make a reaction roll (13). On a failure, they are temporarily restrained, as beams of light emerge from your weapon to tie them down.

Specialization

Pious Power: Your Unstoppable die only increases if you roll your attack with Hope.

Holy Strikes: Mark a Stress. Until your next rest, whenever you make a successful attack, you deal an additional 1d6 Magic Damage.

Mastery

Stand Tall: Once per Long Rest, when you exceed your initial limit on your Unstoppable die, make a spellcast roll using the trait of your Primary Weapon (18). On a success, your Unstoppable die goes back down to 1.

Burning Faith: Whenever you make a successful attack, Spend a Hope to force the target to make a reaction roll (15). On a failure, they take d10 + your level Magic Damage using your proficiency. You may spend additional Hope to force any other creature within Close range to make the same reaction roll with One Hope equaling one additional creature.
