Otherworldly Origin

Subclasses Designed by Mal S

About these subclasses

The Otherworldly Origin plays into the creepier, more mystical sides of the Sorcerer, providing strong utilitarian benefits rather than combat ones, such as being able to see through walls, shutting down adversaries that can be Hidden (at least for you), getting cryptic hints about upcoming dangers or plots against you, warping part of the environment to debilitate enemies, and using Channel Raw Power to discern any kind of question about the world in which you inhabit.

Otherworldly Origin

Otherworldly Origin

Spell trait: Instinct

Play the Otherworldly Origin if you want to tap into strange abilities from beyond the mundane world.

Foundation
Tier 1

I See You: You can see through solid surfaces that would normally block your view. Additionally, adversaries cannot benefit from the Hidden condition while they are within Close range of you.

I Hear Them: When you are faced with multiple options and don’t know what course of action to take, you can listen to disembodied whispers that provide cryptic warnings about the consequences of each choice.

Specialization
Tier 2

Otherworldly Warp: Once per rest, when you roll with Fear, describe a strange effect that warps a prominent place in your environment. When an adversary makes an action or reaction roll within Close range of that point, they must either mark a Stress or gain a penalty to the roll equal to your tier. This effect lasts until the end of the scene.

Mastery
Tier 3

Uncanny Clarity: When you use your Channel Raw Power feature, instead of the benefits listed, you can choose to ask a number of questions equal to half the level of the domain card you placed in the vault. The GM must answer all of your questions, which can be narrative or mechanical in nature, and have no limit in their scope. If the GM doesn’t know the answer to a narrative question, you can answer it and establish it as fact.
