Warden of Summoning

Subclasses Designed by Chapo the Dog

About these subclasses

Drawing inspiration chiefly from Pathfinder and Final Fantasy, this is my version of the Summoner. A re-skinned Beastbound Ranger also works well as a Summoner but this Druid version allows for a much more versatile selection of summons.
Another possibility is swapping the Arcana domain for Codex and making the Spellcast trait Knowledge for a more scholarly version of a Summoner, though I would reduce their starting HP to 5 in this case.

Warden of Summoning

Warden of Summoning

Spell trait: Instinct

Play a Warden of Summoning if, instead of transforming into beasts, you want to summon diverse and wonderful creatures to aid you.

Foundation
Tier 1

Summon: When you use Beastform, instead of transforming into an animal, you call a creature called a "summon" to you. The summon appears within Close range and is treated as your character in the Beastform of your choice, using your traits, base evasion score, and damage thresholds. The summon can understand and communicate with you. Your character remains in the scene and can still act normally. On your spotlight you can choose to act as your character or your summon.

You and your summon share Hit Points, Armor slots, Stress slots, and Hope. However, if both you and your summon are hit by the same attack, only mark HP, Stress, or Armor slots for it once. If you mark your last HP, the summon disappears.

Specialization
Tier 2

Transposition: If your summon is within Close range, you can spend a Hope to swap places with it.

Elusive Conjurer: When you have an active summon, you (but not your summon) gain a +2 bonus to your Evasion.

Mastery
Tier 3

Powerful Bond: When your summon is hit with an attack and you mark 2 or more Hit Points, you can mark a Stress to reduce the number of Hit Points you mark by 1.
