When it comes to the core rules of DaggerHeart, there are countless things you can do and create to make scenes, and more specifically, combat scenes, to make them come alive. Between mighty adversaries, hordes of minions, and environmental dangers, your imagination can dream up infinite memorable encounters that will leave your players retelling the tale with each other for years. It is so engaging that you may wonder, “Could it get any better?” and the answer to that question is, YES!

After many hours of brainstorming, testing, and tweaking based on results and feedback, I’ve created a system that opens the door for unexpected and exciting moments where players can lean on an ally in moments of need. Thus, allowing the possibility of NPCs evolving in the narrative in meaningful ways based on specific moments that were only possible through the randomness of a roll!
