A tier 1-3 sword and solve sandbox adventure for the Witherwild campaign frame of Daggerheart, and is playable over two to three sessions.
This adventure establishes a strategic fort at the edge of Haven’s occupied territory that focuses on the southern flower fields and the areas that border them.
The PCs meet the godling, Ludo, a new god who does not know which domain he has power over. Typically the gods of Fanewick fulfill requests and provide services, but Ludo requests that the PCs locate a witch that he is fond of. The witch, a Wickling named Signe Lorcan, was last seen in Fort Esker.
Faint Divinities avoid Haven and its territory, with its reputation for killing and maiming gods. Fort Esker is occupied by members of the Haven Royal Army and most notably the constable Pontius Willibald. Wicklings and Havenites work in the flower paddies to produce the elusive red flowers of the Crimson Lady’s Veil. A famous Havenite weapon, that was used by the party that stole the reaping eye from the Great Owl Nikta, is rumored to be lost at the bottom of a nearby lake.
This adventure is influenced by the OSR movement, but blended with Daggerheart’s fail forward philosophy. The world is not balanced, dice are used to generate dynamic and unexpected situations, and solutions are in the world not on the character sheet.
