Hearthborne

Community

Hearthborne are often careful, generous, insular, loquacious, smiley, and traditional.

Overview

Being part of a hearthborne community means you come from humble origins, having lived in a modest village or quaint countryside. These communities are often small groups that live in resource-rich, peaceful areas that allow families and neighbors the time to develop close-knit relationships rather than compete over scarce supplies. Hearthborne communities are largely agrarian and pastoral, focusing the layout of their villages around their plants and animals. The town centers typically feature a collection of locally owned shops with skilled artisans such as blacksmiths, cobblers, alchemists, and the like. Sometimes, hearthborne communities have distant but powerful rulers who own the land the villagers work and live on—in those cases, resources are controlled by the wealthy even though the labor is performed by locals, and workers might struggle to afford the basics they need to survive. While some hearthborne individuals can be mistrustful of outsiders, most are known for being welcoming, peaceful, and hospitable.
